Promote Awareness of & Recovery from Eating Disorders

On October 4th, as part of the Health & Beauty Club’s service project at Valley Christian High School (VCS), I delivered two boxes of caring kits to a representative from the Eating Disorders Resource Center (EDRC) during the NAMIWalks Silicon Valley fundraising event at History Park San Jose.

Our club’s goal for this project was to spread awareness and support recovery for people affected by eating disorders. We partnered with the Eating Disorders Resource Center (edrcsv.org) and raised funds at VCS to create 30 caring kits. Each kit included an eating disorder awareness book, a heartfelt handwritten note, and a couple of small stuffed animals to bring warmth and comfort to those who might be struggling.
